Context
The development of new models of service delivery in response to Covid-19 gives rise to new questions and challenges regarding how to measure, manage and maximize impact. Nonprofit organizations and social enterprises are asking themselves whether new programs are meeting the needs on the ground, whether digital provision of services is as effective as in-person, and how to comply with data collection and reporting requirements in the face of reduced in-person interaction. At the same time, using evidence to measure and improve effectiveness can be tricky, time-consuming and expensive, especially during a crisis. The current crisis exacerbates the need for innovative approaches to collect, analyze and utilize evidence to maximize impact.
